- Hometown: Osborne, Kansas
- Alma Mater: Kansas State University (BS, 2004 & MS, 2007)
- Graduated from Osborne HS (KS), where he was twice all-conference, and spent two seasons as a starter at Cloud County CC (KS)
- Transferred to Kansas State and spent two years as a walk-on with the Wildcats’ for head coach Jim Wooldridge
- Became a graduate assistant under Wooldridge in 2005 and continued in that role for another year under new head coach Bob Huggins
- Followed Huggins to West Virginia in 2007, becoming video coordinator with the Mountaineers; part of WVU’s 2010 NCAA Final Four staff
- Spent a total of sixteen years working under Huggins in Morgantown, holding a variety of titles, including eight seasons running basketball operations and two seasons as a full assistant coach (2016-17 and 2022-23)
- In June 2023, a week after Huggins’ resignation, Eilert was named interim head coach for the forthcoming 2023-24 season
- Went 9-23 in his lone season at the helm in Morgantown and did not get the permanent job
- Joined Craig Smith‘s staff at Utah as an assistant coach in June 2024
