- Alma Mater: Swarthmore College (BA, 2003)
- The PA-native played four seasons at D-III Swarthmore, where he was three-year starter for head coach Lee Wimberly
- Got his coaching start with stints at D-III Williams College under head coach Dave Paulsen and at D-III St. Lawrence under Chris Downs
- Spent two seasons as the head coach at D-III Stevens Institute of Technology in New Jersey, where he went 46-13 overall and won shares of the conference regular season title both years
- Moved up to the Division I ranks in 2008, spending the next four years as an assistant under Fran O’Hanlon at Lafayette
- Was DBO at Rutgers for one year (under Mike Rice Jr.) and then spent four seasons on G.G. Smith‘s staff at Loyola (MD) as an assistant
- Had a very successful six-year tenure as the head coach at D-III Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, going 114-27 overall
- Went to four NCAA Tournaments, won three Centennial Conference titles and was twice named the league’s COY
- Left JHU in 2023 to become an assistant at Cincinnati in the Big 12 under head coach Wes Miller
- In March 2024, Loeffler returned to Loyola (MD) as the Greyhounds’ new head coach
