Juan Dixon fired as Coppin State head coach
Juan Dixon has been let go after six seasons as the head coach at Coppin State, the school announced Wednesday. The former Maryland star has gone 51-131 overall with the Eagles and won a share of the MEAC regular season title during the COVID-shortened 2020-21 season.
“After fully evaluating the men’s basketball program and performance, we feel a change of leadership is necessary moving forward,” AD Derek Carter said in a statement. “We wish Juan and his family the best for the future. We thank him for his time at Coppin.”
Off the court, Dixon and his wife, Robyn, are cast members on the Bravo reality show “Real Housewives of Potomac.” A lawsuit has been filed against the school that alleges a former member of Dixon’s staff blackmailed and sexually assaulted a former player, and Dixon is involved as he may not have reported the situation as he was legally obliged to do.
