Free cash just before summer — Nearly $800 for these eligible people in one state

One state is paying families $2,000 — Just one criterion needed to get free cash

There is a mere 2 days left to claim your share of $10,000, and so all eligible citizens should take action by seeing if they qualify for a share of this class action settlement due to a data breach. The settlement agreement that has a claim deadline set to expire in two days is the Christie’s class action settlement. Most eligible class action members would have received notices from the global auction house, Christie’s. detailing their 2024 data breach. The settlement agreement amounts to $1 million, which means that each eligible claimant could receive up to $10,000.

Taking action before the claim-filing deadline

Citizens need to act because the final date to submit a claim is set for Wednesday, June 19, 2025. If an eligible class action member misses this deadline, which is merely two days away, they will forfeit their right to gain a share of the settlement fee.

Any citizen who received an official notice from Christie’s detailing the data breach of 2024 must take action and file within the next two days.

The entire purpose of giving affected members the chance to claim is due to the fact that the 2024 data breach led to the personal details of over 46,000 customers being exposed. Information that was exposed included birth dates, sensitive information, and even passport numbers.

What is on offer from this data breach settlement?

Claimants who successfully meet the claim filing deadline will be eligible to receive either a cash benefit or credit monitoring services. All eligible claimants stand a chance to receive one or more of the following payment options:

  • About $10,000 in reimbursement in cases where documentation can be provided for any out-of-pocket expenses incurred as a result of the data breach. The various documentation that can be provided to prove this extent of loss can include receipts or financial account statements. Bank fees, fraudulent charges, credit monitoring services, and other verified costs incurred due to the breach could result in a higher payment amount.
  • Cash payment for each class action member who did not experience severe loss. The payment amount currently stands at more or less $100 per eligible claimant. However, this payment will be distributed on a pro rata basis, and the exact amount paid out will depend on the number of claims received.
  • For residents in California, an amount of $100 will be paid due to the state privacy law. This final payment amount may be tweaked as well, according to the number of valid claims.

Aside from financial compensation, all class action members who submit a claim by the claim filing deadline will receive two years of free three-bureau credit monitoring and identity restoration services. Included in the deal is $1 million in insurance for identity theft protection.

Another class action settlement with a deadline that is set for the later part of this month is the RGW data breach class action settlement, which will provide eligible claimants with up to $5,000.

Seeing if you qualify for the payment and the credit monitoring service

To meet the qualification criteria for the Christie’s data breach settlement, citizens need to meet the following requirements:

  • Be U.S. citizens.
  • Be part of the customers who had their personal information compromised during the May 2024 data breach faced by Christie’s.
  • To claim, citizens must have received a data breach notification letter from Christie’s detailing the breach.

Data breaches are taken rather seriously, as in the process, all of the customers’ personal information gets exposed. Another data breach settlement taken rather seriously is the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) data breach, for which the claim deadline expired in May.

Disclaimer: You should not submit false or inflated claims under penalty of perjury, as class‑action claim forms historically required declarations signed “under penalty of perjury” to ensure authenticity. Submitting a fraudulent claim not only carries legal exposure—including potential civil and criminal sanctions—but also harms other eligible class members by diluting the available settlement pool.
