  • Alma Mater: Seton Hall University (BA, 1993)
  • Grew up on Long Island in Rockville Centre; attended Archbishop Molloy HS in Queens and Seton Hall Prep in NJ
    • Walked on at Seton Hall as a freshman, playing for head coach P. J. Carlesimo; served as Carlesimo’s video coordinator for the next three seasons as he got his degree
  • Was an admin assistant for Dave Odom at Wake Forest for one year, then spent one season as an assistant at Vanderbilt under Jan van Breda Kolff
  • Returned to his alma mater in 1995 to spend three seasons as an assistant with the Pirates, first under George Blaney and then under Tommy Amaker
  • Worked as an assistant under Buzz Peterson for a total of five seasons at three different schools; Keating and Peterson had previously worked together as an assistants at Vandy
  • Moved out West in 2003, joining Ben Howland‘s staff at UCLA; was an important recruiter and was part of two trips to the NCAA Final Four
  • Hired as a head coach for the first time in 2007, taking over the Santa Clara Broncos program
  • Since then, Keating has worked as a consultant with the Houston Rockets and has worked in sports technology in the Bay Area
    • Also serves as a television analyst with the ABC affiliate in San Francisco
  • Along with his wife, Treena, has two sons
