  • After playing one season for Fred Hobdy at Grambling State, Broadus transferred closer to home to play at D-II Bowie State (MD) for head coaches Frank Silva and Alan Brathway
  • Started his coaching career at his alma mater, spending three years as an assistant under Tyrone Hart
  • Was an assistant under Wil Jones at D-II District of Columbia for four seasons before moving up to the D-I ranks
  • Spent three seasons assisting Art Perry at American (also in DC) and more season on new head coach Jeff Jones‘ staff
  • Headed a few miles south in 2001, joining Karl Hobbs‘ staff as an assistant at George Washington
  • Moved on to Georgetown in 2004, spending the next three seasons as an assistant coach under John Thompson III
    • Was on the Hoyas staff in 2007 when the program made its return to the NCAA Final Four
  • Became a head coach in 2007, leading the Binghamton Bears for two seasons
    • Improved from 14 wins to 23 wins in year two, winning the America East title and earning a NCAA Tournament bid
    • Controversy plagued Broadus’ short stint at Binghamton, starting with the coach’s dismissal of six players in Sept 2009
      • Broadus was then charged with violating NCAA recruiting rules and was placed on administrative leave
      • The Bears played the 2009-10 season with a patchwork roster, interim AD and interim head coach
      • Broadus was reassigned to another position inside the athletic department and later accepted a buyout and resigned
  • After another year out of coaching, Broadus rejoined Thompson‘s staff at Georgetown, staying on until 2017
  • Spent the next two seasons as an assistant at Maryland under head coach Mark Turgeon
  • Hired in May 2019 to be the head coach at Morgan State in Baltimore
    • Took the Bears to The Basketball Classic (normally branded as the CIT) in 2022
