  • Alma Mater: Arizona State University (BA, 2006) / University of Oklahoma (MA, 2017)
  • The son of longtime collegiate and NBA head coach Lon Kruger, Kevin was born in Texas (while his dad was coaching at UT Pan American) and grew up in various states as his father’s career progressed
    • Attended both Centennial HS in Champaign, IL and Walton HS in Marietta, GA, graduating from the latter in 2003
  • Spent most of his collegiate career playing at Arizona State for head coach Rob Evans
    • Transferred after graduation to play one season at UNLV for his dad, helping the Rebels advance to the 2007 Sweet Sixteen
  • Played professional basketball to play overseas (Bulgaria, Italy, Mexico, Belgium and Germany) and in the NBA D-League
  • Started his coaching career in 2014, spending two years back in Arizona as one of Jack Murphy‘s assistants at Northern Arizona
  • Joined his father‘s staff at Oklahoma in 2016, working as a Sooner assistant for three seasons; part of two NCAA Tournaments at OU
  • Returned to UNLV in 2019, becoming the lead assistant under T.J. Otzelberger until the latter left for Iowa State in 2021
  • In March 2021, Kruger was promoted to head coach at UNLV, his first head coaching opportunity
    • Has gone 58-40 through three seasons, including 21 wins and a NIT Quarterfinal appearance in 2024
