- Played point guard for three seasons at UNC under Hall of Fame head coach Dean Smith, going to the Final Four in 1991
- First coaching job was as an assistant at Oregon under head coach Jerry Green
- Spent ten total seasons as an assistant coach to Kevin Stallings – five at Illinois State and five at Vanderbilt
- Also spent two seasons at Providence as an assistance to head coach Tim Welsh
- Between Providence and Vanderbilt, was the head coach of the Bahamas national basketball team (2001-2004)
- Hired as the head coach of the Monmouth Hawks in March 2011
- Led the Hawks to back-to-back MAAC titles and NIT berths in 2016 and 2017; won a share of the MAAC title again in 2021
