Lafayette places head coach Mike Jordan on paid leave
Lafayette announced on Tuesday that first-year head men’s basketball coach Mike Jordan was being placed on paid administrative leave, but did not offer many details. Here’s the school’s official statement:
“Head Men’s Basketball Coach Mike Jordan will be on a paid leave of absence while Lafayette investigates a complaint it has received about his work as head coach. While the investigation is conducted, Associate Head Coach Mike McGarvey will serve as acting head coach. Players and coaches have been informed of the College’s decisions. This is a personnel matter, and as such, the College has no further comment at this time.”
Jordan was hired in March 2022 after nine years on staff at Colgate. The Leopards are currently 9-20 overall and 7-9 in Patriot League play with two regular seasons games remaining. Interim head coach Mike McGarvey was hired this past offseason as associate head coach following four years as the head coach at D-III Lycoming.
