  • Was an assistant for two seasons at Northern Colorado under head coach Ken Smith
  • Was the head coach at Yakima Valley CC during the 1998-99 season, going 31-2 overall and 12-0 in conference
  • Spent eleven seasons as an assistant at Gonzaga under head coach Mark Few
  • Hired as the head coach at Boise State in March 2010
    • Has taken the Broncos to the postseason eight times (4 NCAA, 3 NIT, 1 CBI) during his tenure
    • Won a share of the MWC title in 2015 and then won outright in 2022; named MWC COY for both years
    • In July 2022, Rice signed a new five-year contract that will keep him with the program through 2026-27 season
