March Madness 2021 dates, schedule and locations

See below for the dates, locations and schedule for the 2021 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament, aka March Madness 2021. The Final Four will take place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.

NOTES: On 11/16/2020, the NCAA announced that the 2021 NCAA Tournament would be held in one, centralized location, due to the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. On 1/4/2021, the NCAA announced that all tournament games would take place in and around Indianapolis, Indiana.

  • Selection Sunday: March 14, 2021
  • First Four: March 18, 2021
  • First and Second Rounds: March 19-22, 2021
  • Regional Semifinals: March 27-30, 2021
  • National Semifinals (Final Four): Saturday, April 3, 2021

Additional Facts

This is the third time that Lucas Oil Stadium (opened in 2008) will host the NCAA Final Four – previously doing so in 2010 and 2015 – and the eighth time for the city of Indianapolis. The 1980 Final Four was held at Market Square Arena (closed 1999) and the event was held four times at the former RCA Dome (1991, 1997, 2000 and 2006). The Final Four will return to Indianapolis and Lucas Oil Stadium in 2026.

Television rights for the 2021 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament are held by CBS Sports and Turner Sports, as games will be broadcast on CBS, TBS, TNT and truTV. Radio rights are held exclusively by Westwood One.
