  • Played at Ellettsville HS (IN) before going on to play at D-III Aurora University (IL)
  • Started his coaching career in 1995 as an assistant for James Lancaster at his alma mater
  • Spent one year as an assistant to Leonard Drake at Central Michigan before moving out West to work at Northland Pioneer CC in Show Low, AZ
    • Took over as head coach at Northland Pioneer in 1998, going 36-25 over two seasons
    • Had 8 players move up to the Division I level after playing at Northland Pioneer
  • Was an assistant coach at D-I Northwestern State for eleven seasons, working under head coach Mike McConathy
  • Took over as the head coach at New Orleans – then a D-I Independent – in 2011; the program moved to the Southland Conference two years later in 2013
