- Alma Mater: Simpson College (BA, 1999) / University of South Dakota (MA, 2001)
- Played three seasons at D-III Simpson College (IA) for head coach Bruce Wilson; started his coaching career as an assistant there after graduation
- Spent two years as a graduate assistant at then-Division II South Dakota working under long-time head coach Dave Boots
- Joined Dan Dakich‘s staff at Bowling Green as an administrative assistant in 2003 and was elevated to assistant head coach the following year
- Was an assistant at Chipola College (FL) for one year, helping the team go 35-2 overall and reach the NCJAA National Tournament
- Brought in by interim head coach Dakich at Indiana to serve as video coordinator for the Big Ten and NCAA Tournaments
- Went overseas and spent the 2008-09 season as an assistant coach with Budivelnyk Basketball Club of the Ukrainian Superleague, then returned to Chipola in 2009 to work with the program once more
- Hired in 2011 by Andy Enfield to be an assistant at Florida Gulf Coast and was part of the famous “Dunk City” run to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen as a 15-seed in 2013; elevated to associate head coach by new head coach Joe Dooley in 2013 and spent two seasons in that role
- Became the head coach at Florida Southwestern State College in 2016, going 56-10 overall in two seasons at the helm
- Won 30 games in his second year, achieved a national ranking as high as #2 and was named Suncoast COY
- Left FSW in 2018 to become an assistant coach under Darian DeVries at Drake back in his home state of Iowa
- Worked with the Bulldogs for six years, a tenure that included three NCAA Tournaments and the 2019 Missouri Valley title
- Hired in April 2024 to be the new head coach at USC Upstate in the Big South
