- Born July 19, 1976
- Hometown: Charlottesville, Virginia
- Alma Mater: Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (BS, 2004)
- After high school, the VA-native joined the US Navy and served for six years before enrolling at IUPUI
- Played for four years under Jaguars’ head coach Ron Hunter; in 2003, Crenshaw’s game-winning shot in the 2003 MCC Tournament title game punched the program’s first-ever ticket to the NCAA Tournament
- Graduated in 2004 with 938 career points and a school-record 510 assists
- Spent two years playing professionally in Slovakia and Poland, as well as with the Kentucky Colonels of the ABA
- Joined Hunter’s staff at his alma mater in 2006 as an assistant coach and was elevated to associate head coach in 2011 by new head coach Todd Howard; spent a total of 12 years on staff at IUPUI, including four years under head coach Jason Gardner
- Played an important role in coaching and developing George Hill, who would be Summit League POY and have a long NBA career
- As an assistant, he was part of the program’s first-ever D-I postseason victory in the first round of the 2010 CBI
- Left IUPUI in 2018 to become an assistant coach under James Whitford at Ball State
- Worked with the Cardinals for three years; in 2019-20, the team won a share of the MAC regular season title
- In April 2021, Crenshaw was hired to be the new head coach at his alma mater, IUPUI
- Went just 14-79 over three years, never winning more than 6 games in a season, and was let go in March 2024
