  • Alma Mater: University of Tulsa (B.Ed., 1982)
  • Played for Hall of Fame head coach Nolan Richardson at Tulsa from 1980-1982
  • Spent twenty years on Richardson’s coaching staff, first at Tulsa then at Arkansas
  • Was an assistant coach in 1994 when Richardson lead the Razorbacks to a National Championship victory
  • In four years as UAB head coach, took the Blazers to three NCAA Tournaments; made the Sweet Sixteen in 2004
  • Spent five years as the head coach at Missouri, leading the Tigers to the NCAA Tournament in each of his last three seasons there, including an Elite Eight finish in 2009
  • Left Mizzou to return to Arkansas as head coach in 2012
    • After a slow start, Anderson has taken the Razorbacks to three NCAA Tournaments in his last five seasons
    • Fired in March 2019 after going 169-102 over eight seasons at the helm
  • Hired in April 2019 to become the new head coach at St. John’s; went 17-15 in his first season
    • Finished 4th in the Big East in 2020-21 at 10-9, earning Big East COY honors for that year
    • Anderson went 68-56 over four seasons but failed to reach the postseason and was fired in March 2023
  • Along with his wife, Marcheita, has three children and four grandchildren
