  • Played three years for Phil Martelli at Saint Joseph’s, during which time the Hawks went to two NCAA Tournaments and one NIT
    • Continued working with the program after graduation, serving as JV coach and helping Martelli‘s staff with video prep
    • During that time, he also worked in the private sector as a financial advisor
  • Spent one season as an assistant at D-II Wilkes (PA), then served as the director for three years at Hoop Group ELITE
  • Joined Robert Burke’s staff at Mount St. Mary’s in 2010 and then a year later was hired by Joe Mihalich as an assistant at Niagara
    • Worked under Mihalich for nine seasons – two at Niagara and seven at Hofstra – rising to the role of associate head coach for the Pride in 2019; part of three NITs, one CBI, three CAA titles and one MAAC title
  • For the 2020-21 season, Farrelly served as acting head coach for Hofstra while Mihalich was on medical leave; went 13-10 overall but was not chosen as the permanent head coach following Mihalich’s resignation
  • In April 2021, Farrelly joined the coaching staff of new Penn State head coach Micah Shrewsberry
