- Alma Mater: University of Delaware (BS, 2000)
- The DC-native played for legendary head coach Morgan Wootten at famed DeMatha Catholic HC in Maryland from 1992-96
- Went on to play for fellow DeMatha grad Mike Brey at Delaware, where he was a star for the Fightin’ Blue Hens
- Helped lead the Hens to two NCAA Tournaments and one NIT; won the America East title in both 1998 and 1999
- Became the first Delaware player to be named America East POY (in 1999); inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame in 2007
- Played professionally for several years both in the US (CBA) and overseas (in Italy, England, Argentina and New Zealand)
- Became a teacher and coach at Friendship Collegiate Academy in DC in 2005 then became an assistant coach the following year at Bishop O’Connell HS in Arlington, VA; worked there for three years
- First collegiate job was as the video coordinator at VCU under head coach Shaka Smart
- Returned to his alma mater Delaware in 2010 and spent two seasons as an assistant coach under Monté Ross
- Hired by Chris Mack in 2012 to be an assistant at Xavier, working there for six years before following Mack to Louisville in 2018
- Worked under Mack for a total of nine and a half seasons, during which he was part of six NCAA Tournaments
- In January 2022, Mack resigned as Louisville head coach and Pegues was named interim head coach for the remainder of the season
- Pegues had previously led the team for the first six games of the 2021-22 season due to Mack‘s suspension
- Joined the coaching staff at Butler in April 2022 as an assistant coach under Thad Matta
