Alcorn State parts ways with head men’s basketball coach Montez Robinson
Alcorn State announced Monday that the contracts of head men’s coach Montez Robinson and head women’s coach Courtney G. Pruitt would not be renewed.
“These were very difficult decisions especially considering how they were both great mentors to their student-athletes,” AD Derek Horne said in a statement. “I thank them for their service and wish them the best in their future endeavors. We have very high expectations for our basketball programs and will begin a national search immediately to identify their successors.”
Robinson was 69-86 overall, his best season being 2016-17 when the Braves went 18-14 (13-5) and he was named SWAC COY.
