A futuristic EV that has 705 km of range and could be the end of Tesla? Sign us up. The automotive world is an ever-evolving beast, and this latest EV is the perfect example of how the cars of tomorrow might look. The sleek design and myriad of tech that can be found in the interior is something out of a science fiction film. But believe it or not, this car is coming to a dealership near you sooner than you might think. As the buying public grows weary of Tesla and its enigmatic CEO, Elon Musk, several carmakers have emerged from the electric dust to provide a few choices, and we could not be happier with the results.

Tesla’s dominance in the EV sector has faded away in recent months.

From when Tesla launched its Roadster model way back in 2008, the world had a sense that the innovative technology and electrification of the automotive sector were upon us. Tesla followed its first car with the release of the Model S sedan in 2012. However, the most popular car in the sector is the SUV, and Tesla made us wait a few years before it released the Model X SUV in 2015.

Tesla is facing several competitors for its title in the EV sector.

With Elon Musk’s foray into American politics as the head of DOGE, the backlash that Tesla experienced was intense. The public has made a complete U-turn towards Tesla and its flagship cars. With Tesla dealerships burning across the world, several companies saw this as an opportunity to establish themselves in the EV sector and challenge Tesla’s dominance.

Chief among those challengers is BYD. BYD has built an impressive lineup of EVs that have astounded the buying public. They quickly overtook Tesla to become the world’s largest EV provider, much to the dismay of Elon Musk. As a result of BYD’s success in the EV sector, more EV manufacturers have emerged to deep-dive into the pool of the electric vehicle sector.

How is this all-electric SUV capable of the reported 705 KM range?

The car in question is a truly remarkable design and engineering achievement. Here we can list the features that define the car’s design and performance.

  • The EV in question is 5m long, 2m wide, 1.7m tall, and has a wheelbase of 3m, putting it firmly in the medium to large SUV sector. With a price tag of $41,400, it faces some stiff competition for that price.
  • The all-electric motor produces 340 HP that propels the car from 0-100km/h in 4.5 seconds.
  • The exterior of the car features some futuristic designs such as petal-shaped rims, a closed front face, futuristic “L”-shaped headlights, and two triangular intelligent interactive lights on both sides below the headlights.
  • The tech theme continues as the car also has two ultra-long-range 96-line roof lidars, 11 cameras, 12 ultrasonic radars, 3 millimeter-wave radars, and an Nvidia Orin X chip. So it has the tech to be called a car of tomorrow.
  • That theme continues when you step into the car. It features a 26.3-inch screen in front of the driver and a 15.5-inch screen for the front passenger, as well as a 12.8-inch screen that sits on the center console.

The company responsible for this new all-electric SUV is IM Motors out of China. The Asian sector has been producing some seriously impressive EVs as of late, and this new LS7 Max was unveiled to the world at the Chongqing International Auto Show on June 7. If the LS7 Max model can indeed live up to that 705 KM range claim, it will easily serve as the beginning of the end for Tesla.

Can the IM LS7 lead the electric sector and wave goodbye to Tesla?

As electric vehicles are becoming more prevalent on the roads of the world, the innovation in the sector has been steadily improving with it. It must be noted that not all car manufacturers are all-in on the electric vehicle craze that has consumed the automotive world. However, the LS7 is perfectly placed to become the standard of excellence in the automotive sector. Its futuristic design and myriad of tech is sure to amaze the climate-conscious car buyer of this world, not to mention the tech geeks searching for the car of the future.
