The NFL have confirmed the dates and locations for the international games for the 2025 season. The NFL has been working hard to improve the reputation and appeal of the sport of American football. After a few disastrous years that saw the NFL the center of the political differences between certain individuals, the league has done its best to move away from the controversy and instead focus on what could increase the sports appeal internationally. And that is what led to the international expansion of the NFL. Lets take a look at all the locations and which teams will get the chance to play a regular season game in another country.

Which countries will host the first round of games in the expansion?

While the 2025-26 NFL season schedule is set to be revealed on May 14, the international schedule has been confirmed. The first country to host will be Brazil in week 1. The game will feature the Kansas City Chiefs taking on the Los Angeles Chargers on Friday, September 5 at 8:15 p.m. ET. After losing the Super Bowl last year, the Chiefs are looking for a good start to the 2025 season.

Next in the schedule is Dublin, Ireland. America has a long history with the Irish nation as a large percentage of Americans can trace their roots back to Ireland. The iconic Pittsburgh Steelers will take on the Minnesota Vikings in the Croke Park stadium at 9:30 a.m. ET on Sunday, September 28. That is week 4 in the NFL schedule that has been released.

Week 5 sees the NFL make its way back to a location that will host three games. London has become a welcoming home for some NFL teams. The first game will be between the Minnesota Vikings and the Cleveland Browns. No doubt a certain rookie quarterback will be looking to prove his worth for the Browns after the drama that was the NFL draft.

There are several more international locations for the 2025 season.

London will host a total of three NFL games this year. The second game to be played in the English capital is the Denver Broncos vs the New York Jets. The New York Jets are looking to make a comeback after a certain quarterback left them in a even worse position than before. The Jets need some success to shake off the reputation they have as material for the late night joke circuits on TV.

The last game in London will feature the Los Angeles Rams and Jacksonville Jaguars. The game will take place on October 19 at 9:30 a.m. ET. The iconic Wembley stadium will host the Rams and Jaguars. Wembley has seen some incredible sporting moments over the years. The two NFL teams will look to put on a show and join that illustrious list.

The show then moves to Germany. Berlin will host a game between the Atlanta Falcons and the Indianapolis Colts. With the game taking place at the Olympiastadion, the German fans will don the jersey of choice and surely show up in great numbers. The game will happen on Sunday, November 9 at 9:30 a.m. ET. So the fans of the NFL back home will not have to wake up at ridiculous hours to watch the game.

Will the NFL’s international expansion be a success like it was last year?

The last game in the international schedule will take place in Spain. Madrid will for the first time host an NFL game between the Washington Commanders and Miami Dolphins at 9:30 a.m. ET on Sunday, November 16. The NFL is evolving with the times. Modern day fans are accustomed to technology being part of their sports, and the NFL is listening. With the rest of the regular season games schedule due to be released on 14 May, the international expansion will get the excitement for the 2025 season going for the fans.
