NFL cutdown day leads to thousands of cuts for NFL teams

The NFL is doing everything it can to get the fans excited about the new season. One thing that is always a hit with the fans is the annual jersey release. Fans all across the world await the newest designs from their favorite teams to spend their hard-earned money on. This year, those fans have a little extra to celebrate as the National Football League and Nike announced they would be releasing a special “Rivalries” jersey for the upcoming season. A much-needed boost for the NFL as they prepare for the new season and everything it brings with it.

Which teams will get the new “Rivalries” jersey for the fans to purchase

According to the NFL, the new jerseys aim at celebrating the team’s city and all it has to offer. Much like the “City” jerseys in the NBA, the “Rivalries” jerseys are a representation of the city’s character and what makes it unique. The NFL is still easily the most popular sport in the United States and dominates the nightly broadcast in America.

While the NFL is popular outside the States, nothing compares to the love the teams get from their home fans. And those fans will be itching to get their own “Rivalries” jerseys when they are released on 10 September. The new jerseys represent a new hope for the NFL to gain more popularity outside the borders of North America. The NFL released a statement that explains the thinking behind the new jerseys.

“The unveiling of the first eight Rivalries club uniforms and fan gear marks a significant moment for the NFL, Nike, and Fanatics, as creativity and innovation merge together to deliver a new take on what it means to be a rival. Rivalries will bring fresh energy to the field with each new uniform, while providing a platform to amplify the community and hometown pride that is rooted in each NFL fan.” – Taryn Hutt, vice president of club marketing at the NFL

“Nike has a rich history with football, and we’re excited to partner with the NFL on this new Rivalries program to help grow the sport and expand it for the next generation. Each uniform was designed in collaboration with the club it represents to authentically reflect what makes their team, fans, and communities wholly unique.” – Ryan Airhart, director of NFL apparel product design at Nike

Who will lead their team to glory while wearing the “Rivalries” jersey

As the cutdown day gave the NFL teams a chance to trim their roster ahead of the new season, the fans will be excited to get the ball rolling. Can the teams that have been lucky enough to get a new jersey win with the “Rivalries” jerseys filling up the stands?  With the international schedule adding an extra bit of spice this year. Here is a full list of which teams will debut their new outfits and where they will be doing it:

  • Arizona Cardinals: September 25 vs. Seattle Seahawks
  • Buffalo Bills: October 5 vs. New England Patriots
  • Los Angeles Rams: November 16 vs. Seattle Seahawks
  • Miami Dolphins: September 29 vs. New York Jets
  • New England Patriots: November 13 vs. New York Jets
  • New York Jets: December 7 vs. Miami Dolphins
  • San Francisco 49ers: January 4, 2026 vs. Seattle Seahawks
  • Seattle Seahawks: December 18 vs. Los Angeles Rams

Will we see more of the same from Super Bowl champions, the Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles are the team to beat in the NFL this year. The Eagles have masterminded a truly remarkable start to their championship-winning dynasty, and if all goes according to plan, they might win back-to-back Super Bowls this year. We expect the Green Bay Packers and their new star, Micah Parsons, might have something to say about that. Whether the Eagles take the championship this year or if the Chiefs can mount a comeback to form and take the Super Bowl this season, remains to be seen.
