- Born November 2, 1979
- Hometown: Liberty, Missouri
- Alma Mater: Stanford University (BS & MS, 2005)
- Graduated from Liberty HS (MO) and then spent two years on a LDS mission in Brazil before starting college
- Played basketball for four seasons at Stanford, three for head coach Mike Montgomery and one for Trent Johnson
- Served as team captain in both his junior and senior seasons; played in four NCAA Tournaments
- Started out his coaching career as a volunteer assistant at Rio Rancho HS (NM) before getting back into the college game
- Spent two years on Johnson‘s staff back at Stanford, one each as director of basketball operations and as an assistant coach
- Was an assistant for one season under Larry Holley at D-II William Jewell in his hometown of Liberty, MO
- Reunited with Johnson, then the head coach at LSU, in 2009 and became assistant to the head coach
- Elevated to DBO the following year and then assistant coach the year after that, spending three seasons with the program
- Hired as the head coach at Southern Utah in 2012, serving in that capacity for four seasons
- Went just 29-90 at the helm, finishing under .500 each year with two 24+ loss records, and was fired in March 2016
- After a year away, Robinson joined the staff at Seattle as an assistant under new head coach Jim Hayford
- In 2019, he was hired by Mark Pope to be an assistant coach at BYU; has been a part of one NCAA Tournament and one NIT at BYU
