- Born December 13, 1970
- Hometown: Newtown Square, Pennsylvania
- Alma Mater: Philadelphia College (BS, 1994)
- Was a walk-on at Philadelphia College (now University) under Hall-of-Fame coach Herb Magee, aka the Shot Doctor
- Spent one year assisting Bill Werkiser at D-III Delaware Valley before taking a three-year break from coaching to join his family business
- Worked for five years as an assistant coach at Episcopal Academy in Merion, PA; Chambers attended the school in his youth
- Hired in 2001 as an assistant to Magee at his alma mater Philadelphia for three seasons
- Spent the next five seasons as an assistant coach under Jay Wright at Villanova
- First head coaching job came in 2009 when he was hired by Boston University
- Led the Terriers to an America East Tournament title and NCAA berth is his second and final season there
- Hired as head coach at Penn State in 2011, returning to his home state where he spent the majority of his prior career
- Led the Nittany Lions in winning the 2018 NIT Championship
- His 2019-20 team was ranked as high as #9, the highest ranking for the program since 1996
- In July 2020, a former player accused Chambers of making a racially insensitive remark in January 2019, just after Chambers had been suspended for one-game by the school after TV cameras caught him shoving a player during a timeout
- The school opened an investigation, talking to a number of former players and coaches; in October 2020, Chambers tendered his resignation
- Spent the 2021-22 season as an assistant at La Salle under head coach Ashley Howard
- Hired in March 2022 as the new head coach at Florida Gulf Coast in the ASUN Conference
- Along with his wife, Courtney, has two daughters and two sons
