  • Alma Mater: Xavier University (BS, 1998)
  • After one year at Wyoming, transferred back home to Cincinnati to play for Skip Prosser at Xavier
  • Following graduation, became an assistant coach at Elder HS in Cincinnati
  • Joined Prosser‘s staff at Wake Forest in 2001 as Director of Basketball Operations and was promoted to assistant coach in 2004
    • Kelsey stayed on the Wake staff under new head coach Dino Gaudio following Prosser‘s tragic passing in 2007
  • Returned to his alma mater Xavier in 2009 as associate head coach under Chris Mack
  • Hired as the Winthrop head coach in 2012, winning the Big South regular season title in both 2016 and 2017 and making a trip to the 2017 NCAA Tournament via the Big South Tournament auto-bid
  • In March 2021, Kelsey was announced as the next head coach at College of Charleston
  • Along with his wife, Lisa, has two daughters and one son
