- Alma Mater: Northern State University (BA, 1996) / Wayne State College (MA, 1999)
- Played four years at then-NAIA Northern State (SD), serving as team captain for Wolves back-to-back NAIA runner-up finishes
- Started his coaching career at Sidney HS (NE) before serving as a graduate assistant at Wayne State (NE) under Greg McDermott
- Returned to his alma mater in 1999, spending six years as an assistant under longtime head coach Don Meyer
- Spent five seasons as the head coach at NAIA Black Hills State in Spearfish, SD
- Was 94-62 during his tenure, winning two DAC titles and reaching the NAIA Tournament twice (2009 & 2010)
- Hired in 2010 to take over for Meyer as the head coach at Northern State, serving in that role for nine seasons
- Went 188-89 at NSU, going to three D-II NCAA Tournaments and winning two NSIC titles and Tournaments
- Named NSIC Coach of the Year twice, including the 2017-18 season in which NSU finished as D-II National Runner-up
- Made the move up to Division I in May 2019 when he was hired to be the head coach at North Dakota
- Is 43-80 through his first four seasons with the Fighting Hawks
