Alma Mater: York University (BA, 2004) / Northwestern State University (M.Ed., 2005) / University of Iowa (MS, 2010) / New Mexico State University (MBA, 2012 & PhD, 2019)
Played at Iona Catholic Secondary School in Toronto before spending one year playing at York University (1998-99)
Was the head coach at Don Bosco Catholic HS (Toronto) from 1999-2003, while still attending York as an undergrad
First collegiate job was as a graduate assistant at Northwestern State under head coach Mike McConathy
Spent two years at Iowa on Steve Alford‘s staff as Director of Basketball Operations
Was on Marvin Menzies‘ staff at NMSU for nine seasons – four as an assistant and five as associate head coach
- Promoted to head coach in April 2016; led the Aggies to a WAC Tournament title and NCAA berth in his first season
Hired in April 2017 to become the head coach at in-state rival New Mexico
- Went 58-63 in four years with the Lobos; in February 2021, New Mexico and Weir agreed to part ways at the end of the season
In July 2021, Weir was hired to be the Director of Athletics at Division II Eastern New Mexico University
Along with his wife, Alma, has one son
