- Alma Mater: Gettysburg College (1974)
- A DC-native, Clark attended renowned DeMatha Catholic High School before going on to nearby Gettysburg College
- Started coaching in 1975 as an assistant at DeMatha and was hired after three years to be Dick Harter‘s assistant at Penn State
- Joined Bobby Cremins‘ staff at Georgia Tech in 1982 as an assistant; promoted to associate head coach in 1986
- Spent eleven seasons as the head coach at Tulane, initially hired in 1989 when the program was just being reinstated after a four-year hiatus that stemmed from a point shaving scandal
- Clark won 185 games, went to three NCAA Tournaments and won four league titles (one Metro, three C-USA)
- Won two national COY awards in 1992 following the Green Wave’s 22-9 finish
- Was head coach at Miami (FL) for four seasons and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi for four more
- Took Miami to the NCAA Tournament in 2002 and NIT in 2001
- Hired in 2013 by Frank Martin to join the coaching staff at South Carolina; was part of Gamecocks’ 2017 NCAA Final Four run
- Announced his retirement in June 2020 after seven years at SC and over 40 years in college coaching
