- Philip Martelli, Sr.
- Born August 31, 1954
- Alma Mater: Widener University (BA, 1976)
- Played point guard for four seasons at Div III Widener and got his first coaching job as an assistant at the school in 1977
- Was the head coach at Bishop Kenrick HS in Norristown, PA for seven seasons
- Spent ten years as an assistant at Saint Joe’s under Jim Boyle & John Griffin before taking over as head coach in 1995
- Has been to seven NCAA Tournaments and six NITs during his tenure at SJU
- Was twice the NIT Runner-up (1996 & 2005) and has twice been to the Sweet Sixteen (1997 & 2004); the 2004 squad, led by National POY Jameer Nelson, won 30 games and made it to the Elite Eight
- Fired in March 2019 after 24 seasons as head coach (34 seasons in total at SJU)
- Spent five seasons as an assistant coach on Juwan Howard‘s staff at Michigan
- In 2023, Martelli served as interim head coach (5-5) of the Wolverines while Howard recovered from an offseason heart surgery
