South Alabama has hired Nicholls State head coach Richie Riley to be the new head coach of the Jaguars. Riley led the Colonels to a share of the Southland title this season, just his second in the lead role.
Riley came to Nicholls with extensive assistant coaching experience, working under the likes of Cliff Ellis, Brad Brownell and Jerod Haase.
The South Alabama job opened earlier this month when the school parted ways with Matthew Graves after five seasons.
