Ronald Cochran Everhart
Born January 11, 1962
Hometown: Fairmont, West Virginia
Alma Mater: Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (BA, 1985)
After graduating from DeMatha Catholic HS (MD), played at Virginia Tech under head coach Charles Moir
Started coaching right away, spending one year as a graduate assistant under Bobby Cremins at Georgia Tech
Spent the next eight seasons as an assistant, two at VMI under Joe Cantafio and six at Tulane under Perry Clark
- Cantafio had been an assistant at DeMatha during Everhart’s playing days
Hired in 1994 as the head coach at McNeese State, going 92-104 over seven seasons
- Won the Southland title twice and going to the NIT in 2001 after winning 22 games
Spent five seasons as the head coach at Northeastern, again going to the NIT in 2005 after a 21-win season
Was the head coach at Duquesne for six seasons, appearing in the postseason three times (one NIT, two CBIs)
- Fired in March 2012 after going 99-89 overall
Everhart joined Bob Huggins‘ staff at West Virginia in 2012 and spent the next eleven years as one of his assistants
- Transitioned into a new role in 2023, becoming director of player outreach and community relations under new coach Josh Eilert
Along with his wife, Mirchana, has one son and one daughter
