  • Played at Miami (FL) for head coach Bruce Hale; part of the Hurricanes team that went to the NCAA Tournament in 1960
    • Left Miami with a number of program records; was an honorable mention All-American in 1961
    • Named to the ACC Legends Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2012
  • Later served as an assistant coach under Hale for several years before taking over as the head coach in 1971
    • Led the Hurricanes from 1967-71, going 47-57 during his time at the helm
  • Resigned from his position in 1971; the Hurricane basketball program did not compete again until 1985
