- Hometown: Reedsburg, Wisconsin
- Alma Mater: University of Wisconsin-Platteville (BA, 1996)
- The Wisconsin-native played at UW-Platteville for four seasons under head coach Bo Ryan and was captain of the 1994-95 Pioneers’ team that went undefeated and won the NCAA D-III national title
- Was a graduate assistant for one season at Wayne State College (NE) under Greg McDermott
- Joined his college coach Bo Ryan‘s staff at Milwaukee as an assistant in 1999 and followed Ryan to Madison in 2001 to spend three seasons as Director of Basketball Operations
- Became an assistant to Tim Miles at North Dakota State in 2004 and took over the Bison program in 2007 when Miles left for Colorado State
- Won 134 games in seven seasons, leading the Bison to their first two NCAA D-I Tournaments in program history
- Left NDSU for Ohio in April 2014 and took the Bobcats to the 2016 CBI Semifinals in his second season (finishing 23-12)
- Fired in March 2019 after five seasons in Athens, going 81-77 and reaching the postseason just once (2016 CBI)
- Hired in June 2019 as the head coach at Division II Northern State in Aberdeen, SD
- Went 26-6 in his first season, winning the NSIC title and Tournament and reaching the (cancelled) D-II NCAA Tournament
- Returned to the D-II NCAA Tournament in 2021 and 2023, winning the NSIC title both seasons
