- Alma Mater: University of Texas at Arlington (BS, 1998)
- An Arlington native, Cross played three years at Texas-Arlington under head coach Eddie McCarter
- Started his coaching career at his alma mater immediately after graduation, working for McCarter as an assistant for eight years
- Promoted to head coach in April 2006, leading the Mavericks to 21 wins and a berth in 2008 NCAA Tournament in just his second season
- Cross’ teams are responsible for the four winningest seasons in program history, including a 27-9 mark in 2016-17
- Fired in March 2018 after twelve seasons as the Mavericks’ head coach
- Joined Jamie Dixon‘s staff at TCU in April 2018 as an assistant coach; it was his first-ever coaching job somewhere other than UTA
- Hired in March 2019 to be the new head coach of the Troy Trojans
- Through five seasons at the helm, Cross is 80-76 overall; Trojans won 20 games in 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24
- Along with his wife, Jennifer, has three sons
