  • Father, Dick Nagy, was an assistant coach for Lou Henson at Illinois; Scott’s first collegiate job was as a grad assistant under Henson
  • Also spent time as an assistant to Jim Thorson (SDSU) and Jack Margenthaler (SIUE) before becoming a head coach
  • Spent 21 seasons as the head coach at South Dakota State, a tenure that included the program’s transition to Division I in 2004 and entrance into the Summit League in 2007
    • Took the Jackrabbits to five-straight postseason appearances, including three NCAA Tournaments, from 2012-2016
  • Hired at Wright State in April 2016, leading the Raiders to a 20-win season in his first year
  • In March 2024, Nagy made a return to his home state when he was hired to be the head coach at Southern Illinois
