- Born November 17, 1968
- Hometown: Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania
- Alma Mater: University of Pittsburgh (BA, 1992)
- Played point guard at Pittsburgh from 1987-1992 for head coach Paul Evans
- Started coaching in 1992 as a graduate assistant under head coach Stu Jackson at Wisconsin
- Spent seven seasons as an assistant to Herb Sendek – two at Miami (OH) and five at NC State
- Also served as an assistant for one season under Ralph Willard at his alma mater, Pitt
- Was an assistant to Thad Matta at Xavier for three seasons before taking over as the XU head coach in 2004
- Went to four NCAA Tournaments in five years at Xavier, including runs to the 2008 Elite Eight and 2009 Sweet Sixteen
- Hired as Arizona’s head coach in 2009 and brought quick success to the program; the Wildcats finished with 30 wins following an Elite Eight run in Miller’s second season (2010-11)
- Went to seven NCAA Tournaments and one NIT, winning five Pac-12 titles and three Pac-12 Tournaments
- Miller was fired in April 2021 after missing multiple NCAA Tournaments in a row
- In March 2022, Miller returned to Xavier for a second stint as the Musketeers’ head coach
- Along with his wife, Amy, has three sons
- Younger brother is Archie Miller, is also in college basketball, currently the head coach at Rhode Island
