Seth Littrell fired after seven seasons at North Texas

After seven seasons at North Texas, head football coach Seth Littrell was fired on Sunday. Littrell went 44-44 overall and led the Mean Green to six bowl games (0-5), including this year’s Frisco Bowl against Boise State on 12/17.

“After a thorough assessment of our football program, we decided to make a change in the leadership of our football program, effective immediately,” said UNT President Neal Smastresk. “We appreciate the many positive contributions Coach Littrell has made to our program. He has led the team with integrity and class, and we wish him and his family nothing but the best in the future.”

UNT will be coached in the Frisco Bowl by defensive coordinator Phil Bennett.
