- Alma Mater: University of Connecticut (BA, 1991)
- Played four seasons at UConn under Hall of Fame head coach Jim Calhoun
- Was an assistant coach at UConn under Calhoun, Yale under Dick Kuchen, Central Connecticut under Howie Dickenman and George Washington under Karl Hobbs
- Spent one year as the interim head coach at Division III Wesleyan (1995-96), going 5-18
- Became first former UConn player of Calhoun‘s to become a head coach when he was hired at Stony Brook in 2005
- Went to three NITs and two CBIs at Stony Brook before winning the America East Tournament and regular season in 2016 to lead the Seawolves to their first ever NCAA Tournament
- Hired in March 2016 to become the next head coach at Rutgers
- The 2019-20 team won 20 games for the first time since 2004 and then the following year (2020-21), the Scarlet Knights earned a NCAA Tournament bid for the first time since 1991
