  • Followed Foster to South Carolina in 1980, working with the Gamecocks program for the next five years
  • Hired in 1985 to be the head coach at Delaware, leading the Hens for ten seasons
    • Compiled a 163-121 overall record at Delaware, highlighted by back-to-back 22+ win seasons (1992-93)
    • Resigned from his position in 1995, leaving as the program’s leader in coaching victories
