Tim Duryea fired as Utah State head coach

Utah State has fired head basketball Tim Duryea after three seasons as the Aggies’ leader. Duryea has been at the school since 2001, spending fourteen years as an assistant (and eventually associate head coach) to former USU head coach Stew Morrill.

This firing was certainly not one that many in the college basketball world were expecting to see. The Aggies on-court success has certainly decline this decade, but in three seasons Duryea’s record was hardly terrible. Slightly below .500 at 47-49 overall (.490) and 17-17 this past season, the Aggies should be returning their top six scorers next year to build on a talented, experienced core.
