  • Hometown: Denton, Texas
  • Alma Mater: North Texas State University (BA, 1988)
  • Graduated from Denton HS (TX) and started his college career playing for Lon Kruger at UT-Pan American (now UTRGV)
  • Started his coaching career at Colorado State, spending two seasons as an assistant there under Boyd Grant
  • Joined Tim Jankovich‘s staff at North Texas in 1993, then four years later worked with Jankovich at Hutchinson CC (KS)
    • Duryea was elevated to head coach at Hutchinson in 1999; went 44-21 (20-12) in two seasons at the helm
  • Returned to D-I in 2001, joining Stew Morrill‘s staff at Utah State; would work at Utah State for the next 17 seasons
    • In 14 seasons assisting Morrill (including seven as associate head coach), going to six NCAA Tournaments, four NITs and one CIT
  • Became the Aggies’ head coach in 2015 following Morrill‘s retirement, leading the program for three seasons
    • Compiled an overall record of 48-49, but was fired in March 2018 following a 17-17 (8-10) campaign
  • Hired in summer 2018 by Leon Rice to be an assistant coach at Boise State, staying in the MWC
