  • Alma Mater: Central Michigan University (BS, 2003) / University of Nevada-Las Vegas (M.Ed, 2010)
  • Started his coaching career as a JV coach and varsity assistant at Harrison Community HS (MI)
  • Moved up to the college ranks in 2003, spending one season as a volunteer assistant on Paul Westphal‘s staff at Pepperdine
  • First arrived at UNLV in 2004, working as an assistant under Lon Kruger for two seasons
  • From 2006-12, Simon worked as an assistant at Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nevada
    • Spent the 2012-13 season as head coach, leading the team to a 35-1 overall record
  • Returned to UNLV in 2013 to work on Dave Rice‘s staff; was an assistant for two years then became associate head coach
    • Took over as interim head coach in 2016 after Rice was fired mid-season; led the team to a 9-8 record at the helm
  • Hired in March 2016 as the head coach of the Southern Utah Thunderbirds
    • In 2020-21, Simon led the Thunderbirds to an outright Big Sky title, finishing the regular season 18-3 (11-2); he was named Big Sky COY and recognized nationally with the 2021 Jim Phelan Award
    • Went 118-106 overall and 65-28 in his last three seasons at the helm
  • Left SUU in March 2023 to become the new head coach at Bowling Green
    • Went 20-14 in his first season and appeared in the 2024 CIT
