Tom Pecora elevated to head coach at Quinnipiac

Following Baker Dunleavy’s departure for Villanova, Quinnipiac is elevating special assistant Tom Pecora into the lead role. Pecora was previously the head coach at Fordham (2010-15) and Hofstra (2001-10) and has been at Quinnipiac since Dunleavy‘s first season in 2017.

“We are pleased to announce that Tom Pecora will assume head coaching duties, effective immediately,” the press release read. “Tom joined Quinnipiac basketball as assistant coach in 2017 with deep coaching expertise, having served previously as head basketball coach at Hofstra University and Fordham University.”

Pecora has 199 total wins as a head coach and has led teams to three NITs and one CBI. The Bobcats are coming off their first 20-win season since 2014, but have yet to play in the D-I NCAA Tournament since moving up in 1998.
