- Alma Mater: University of Nebraska Omaha (BA, 1995)
- Born in Rantoul, IL, Stubblefield was an all-state player Broomfield HS in Colorado and originally played basketball at Clinton CC in Iowa
- Transferred to Nebraska-Omaha in 1991 and later served as a team-captain during his senior season playing for Bob Hanson
- Played alongside Chris Crutchfield at Omaha; both went into coaching and worked on the same staff several times in their careers
- Began his coaching career as a student assistant at Omaha, spending one season each working under Hanson and Tim Carter
- Followed Carter to UTSA in 1995 to be an assistant coach and then a year later joined Eddie McCarter‘s staff at Texas-Arlington
- Hired by Lou Henson at New Mexico State in 2005, serving as one of his assistants for four and a half seasons
- Spent 14 games as interim head coach in 2005 during Henson’s medical leave, which eventually led to his retirement
- Stayed at NMSU as an assistant under new head coach Reggie Theus for the 2005-06 season
- Joined Mick Cronin‘s staff at Cincinnati in 2006, working with the Bearcats for four seasons
- Arrived in Eugene in 2010, becoming a member of new Oregon head coach Dana Altman‘s first staff and staying there for eleven years
- Elevated to associate head coach in 2020; during his tenure, Stubblefield was part of seven NCAA Tournaments (including five Sweet Sixteens and the Ducks’ 2017 Final Four run) and four Pac-12 regular season titles
- In April 2021, Stubblefield was announced as the new head coach of the DePaul Blue Demons in the Big East
- Fired in January 2024 after 2+ years at the helm; Stubblefield went 28-54 overall and was just 3-15 (0-7) in the 2023-24 season
- Returned to Eugene in April 2024 to re-join Altman‘s staff as an assistant coach, ahead of the Ducks’ first season in the Big Ten
