UPI Coach of the Year

List of UPI Coach of the Year winners

Every year from 1955 to 1996, the UPI College Basketball Coach of the Year award was given to the most outstanding men’s Division I college basketball coach of the season. The award was presented by United Press International (UPI), a news agency that in 1999 sold all of its broadcast clients to rival Associated Press (AP). John Wooden won the most UPI Coach of the Year honors with six, followed by six other coaches who won the award twice each.
