  • Hometown: Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania
  • Alma Mater: Midwestern State University (BS, 1976 & M.Ed, 1978)
  • Graduated from Belle Vernon Area HS (PA) and attended Sheridan College (WY) before finishing his career at NAIA Midwestern State (TX)
    • Played for the Mustangs for two seasons, serving as a team captain and helping lead the squad to a NAIA National Runner-up finish in 1975
    • In 2018, Trilli was recognized by the school as a distinguished alumnus
  • Spent six years after graduation on staff at Midwestern State, first as a graduate assistant and then as a full-time assistant, all under head coach Gerald Stockton
  • Became the head coach and athletic director at Lon Morris College (TX), winning three Texas Eastern Conference titles in eight years at the helm
  • Joined Tom Penders‘ staff at Texas in 1989 and spent the next eight seasons working with the Longhorns
    • Was part of three Southwest title teams and seven NCAA Tournaments, including a trips to the 1997 Sweet Sixteen and 1990 Elite Eight
  • Hired in 1997 to be the head coach at North Texas, then a member of the Big West
    • Went just 20-87 over four years at the helm and was let go following the 2000-01 season
  • Transitioned into administration, becoming the Assistant Athletic Director at Garden City CC (KS) in 2002; elevated to Athletic Director in 2004
  • Since 2008, Trilli has been the AD at Newman University in Wichita, KS, where he helped transition the department from NAIA to NCAA Division II
    • Has also served as Vice President of Student Affairs at Newman since 2015
