Graduated from Provine HS (MS) and then went on to play for head coach Mike Vining at Louisiana-Monroe
- Spent two seasons as a graduate assistant on Vining’s staff after graduating
Became the head coach at his alma mater Provine HS in 1992, winning a MS State Championships
Spent four years as an assistant at Ole Miss, working under head coach Rod Barnes
Went back to the high school level in 2004, coaching at Piney Woods HS for three years and Callaway HS (MS) for six
- Won four more State Championships in six years at Callaway
Hired in 2013 to take over as the head coach at Jackson State, where he has coached ever since
- Led the Tigers to a 20-win season in 2015-16, concluding in a trip to the CIT
- Won a share of the SWAC title during the COVID-shortened 2020-21 season
- Retired in March 2022 after nine seasons at the school; went 119-156 overall
Along with his wife, Dedra, has one daughter and one son
