Zuffa Boxing—it sounds like something new is birthing soon. Should we be excited? Is it something that will benefit the boxing world? How is it happening? In fact, for weeks now, something has been stirring in the domes and gym rooms about an announcement that will change the whole boxing league. Since there is still confusion about the whole situation, everyone is just there holding their phones in their hands to see if the next headline will talk about this so-called Zuffa boxing and what it is all about, and why the decision to change the name was made, or why it was initiated.
A new promotion is at hand, and Dana White is involved
Okay, so this is a new promotion, so why are people going crazy over it? What is so special or different from other promotions? There is a lot that goes on in boxing, that is, the part that we see and the art that we do not see. At times, it becomes chaotic and disorganised, and because generations are different, someone has decided to change the whole narrative and believes this one will be better and more effective.
Dana White, the UFC’s spokesperson, has never hidden from the public that one day he would like to join boxing. When that made noise, it later died down because nothing was seen, or he just never took action. Furthermore, the same Dana White has expressed his unhappiness with all the drama that happens in boxing, and now, after some time of thinking and checking, White and the TKO Group are launching a new brand.
Dana White of the UFC and TKO’s audacious bet to repair boxing’s dysfunctional structure
So, boxing is broken? Is that what it means? It looks good on the outside; I mean, everything seems to be making sense and thriving. Players are growing, moving to the next level, getting paid, and all, or is it that that is all we know and assume and think, and perhaps there is more to the boxing world that White and friends are trying to fix?
According to insiders, Turki Al-Sheikh, the Saudi official whose investments have changed the face of high-profile boxing cards in recent years, has contributed to this effort. Zuffa Boxing may avoid some of the machinations that typically ruin dream fights with that financial support. Many in the fight industry think that the money, promotion, and UFC know-how might make more established promoters reconsider their business practices.
Zuffa Boxing is prepared to bring Ring III’s highly anticipated bouts to New York
Some of the issues surrounding the BTSD politics can be seen when, in June, the Canelo-Crawford fight still had no venue as the Sept. 13 date was fast approaching. The Zuffa Boxing account’s quote from White on X, read:
“Turki wants to make the biggest fights that the fans want to see in boxing and this is right up my alley, are you kidding me that the first boxing fight I’m going to get to promote is Canelo vs. Crawford? It’s literally a once in a lifetime fight.”
The name “Zuffa Boxing” is pretty catchy, too. However, there are still no full details about how it will be implemented and how the “new” organisation will change what we already know. We know that Dana White means well and wants to see the league thrive, creating a better environment for boxers, too, and for upcoming boxers to feel loved. To avoid situations such as Jaime Munguia testing positive for exogenous testosterone after Surace’s victory. The Zuffa Boxing idea will try to push fairness and grow players in every possible way to ensure security, too.
