  • Hometown: Brooklyn, New York
  • Alma Mater: St. Francis College (BS, 1983)
  • The Brooklyn-native played at Xaverian HS (NY) and then for coach Gene Roberti at then-Division I St. Francis (NY)
  • Started his college coaching career in 1993, spending two seasons on the staff of Ron Ganulin at his alma mater
  • Next was a four-year stint working for Bill Bayno at UNLV, first as an administrative assistant and then as director of basketball ops
  • Left UNLV to be DBO at Pittsburgh under head coach Ben Howland; worked with the Panthers for seven seasons, working his way up to asssistant and then associate head coach – the last three years were under head coach Jamie Dixon
    • Established himself as a key recruiter, especially with players from New York City, during his time at Pitt
  • Hired in 2006 to be the new head coach at Manhattan in the MAAC; went 58-95 in five seasons at the helm
    • Only finished above .500 once and never reached the postseason; fired in 2011 following a 6-25 (3-15) campaign
  • After a year away, Rohrssen worked as an assistant under Mike Peck with the Idaho Stampede (now SLC Stars) in the NBA G League
  • Returned to Pitt for one more season on Jamie Dixon‘s staff, then spent one year each working at Kentucky (under John Calipari) and back home at St. John’s (under Chris Mullin)
