  • Alma Mater: Stetson University (BA, 1964)
  • The AL-native played basketball for head coach Glenn Wilkes at Stetson
  • Arrived at Southwestern Louisiana (now known simply as Louisiana) in 1974, working under Jim Hatfield
    • The program was coming out of an NCAA-sanctioned “death penalty” and did not compete 1973-75
    • Took over as the Ragin’ Cajuns’ head coach in 1978, a position he held for the next eight seasons
      • Led the team to two NCAA Tournaments and three NITs; went 153-85 overall
  • Became the head coach at South Florida in 1986, coaching the Bulls for ten seasons
    • Went to two NCAA Tournaments – the first two in program history – and won 127 total games
    • Transitioned from coaching to administration in 1996, spending the next eight years as assistant to the AD
  • Inducted into both the Louisiana Basketball HOF (c/o 2005) and the USF Athletic HOF (c/o 2013)
