Carmen Maciariello promoted to head coach at Siena

Siena assistant Carmen Maciariello was promoted to head coach Monday following the departure of Jamion Christian to George Washington. Maciariello joined the staff at Siena in 2018, but is an alum of the school and started his coaching career as the Saints’ DBO back in 2005.

“Carmen has an outstanding coaching resume at all levels of basketball, and has been part of championship teams everywhere he’s been,” AD John D’Argenio said in a statement. “He has forged strong relationships both here in the Capital Region and across the country. Carmen and his family have been part of the fabric of both the Siena College community and the Capital Region for a long time, and his love of Siena is evident through his energy and professionalism.”

Maciariello will be formally introduced via a press conference at Siena on Tuesday.
